Upcoming Meetings and Events

Regular Board Meetings
The board meets once a month at the Wasa Community Hall at a date and time set at the previous meeting. Meetings vary according to the schedule of the trustees but notices are always posted on the website and on bulletin boards in the community. All regular board meetings are open to the public but if you wish to address the board, please contact admin@wasalake.ca and ask to be added to the agenda. See Meeting Procedures Bylaw for details. Minutes are posted in the Library when they are approved.

The Annual General Meeting is held between January 1st and May 1st annually, but the date is different yearly. Notices are posted at least 2 weeks prior on this website, in the newspaper, and on a community bulletin board. Anyone can attend the AGM, but to be eligible to vote (rules according to the Local Government Act) you must be a Canadian citizen, a property owner within the WLLID boundary (your name must be on title), BC resident for at least 6 months, and over the age of 18.

Other Dates To Note:
Tax notices are mailed June 1st and DUE July 15. A one-time late penalty is applied to unpaid taxes after the due date, and on the following March 1st, an interest charge prescribed by the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development begins to accrue on taxes in arrears.
